Your generous contribution helps us continue our work to make Tennessee the most adoption-friendly state in the country, where every child can have a safe, loving, permanent family. We are working with policymakers and stakeholders to improve adoption and foster care public policy focused on the best interests of children, adoptive parents, and parents considering placing a child for adoption.
We are already making a difference.
Since our public launch in March of 2022, we have worked with stakeholders and policymakers to:
Reduce the time to permanency for children and adoptive families.
Increase support for birth parents making a voluntary placement and expanding access to counseling services.
Strengthening the focus on the best interests of children.
Reduce delays in court cases for children in the foster care system.
Improve stability for children in foster care.
Recognize the significant relationship between foster parents and children in their care, and give foster parents a greater ability to advocate for the child’s best interest.
Protect expectant parents, prospective adoptive parents, and children from illegal unlicensed adoption facilitators.
There is still so much work to do!
The Adoption Project is a non-profit 501(c)4 organization. We are working to make Tennessee the best place in the country to build strong families through adoption and foster care.
To do this we’ll build a policy model which destigmatizes placing a child for adoption, streamlines the adoption process, and fosters strong bonds and permanence so that every child can have a safe, loving, permanent family.
